I have to buy a $20 or less gift for a Christmas party I'm attending. Any great gift ideas or suggestions?

Is this for one of those sorts of things where the gifts are chosen or randomized and traded?

A real leatherman will get taken by someone for sure.

I dunno how many non-consumable sub $20 gifts I would actually want...generally if it was something I needed, I would just buy it, otherwise, odds are I either have that need taken care of or it is some item that will just turn into clutter and be gotten rid of. I always like the "buy them something they wouldn't buy themselves" strategy (i.e. things they would want and enjoy, but would consider an extravagance to buy themselves or where they wouldn't buy one of the same level of quality)...but it is tough to do that on non-consumable items. At least with food and drink, you could nab a $20 bottle of wine for somebody who wouldn't usually stray from the ten buck section.

I have to buy some in that range for my cousins apparently (doing some sort of structured gift exchange this year) and I dunno...I was serious about my leatherman suggestion, lots of people would find it handy, and even people who have an old one might appreciate a new one. I think amazon will sell you a wingman for $20.

How about one of those black/brown reversible belts? I forgot my belt today, and I always wish I had one of those to keep in my office...reversible so it doesn't matter what shoes I am wearing and not very nice so I'm not tempted to take it home and use it for real.

Nordstrom Rack/Marshalls should always have a few for $20 or less. They usually have a buckle that is screwed on, so a size 46 can be cut down to fit anyone with a knife and a screwdriver in 30 seconds.

And they are always some laminated corrected grain crap, so even if someone already has one, odds are good that they would like a new one!
