My parents are asking me to what I would like for my graduation gift. I would like a nice watch, however the models I have been looking at are way too much. I'm wondering, what is similar to the Omega seamasters but around $1000? It is not imperative, but if you have a great recommendation feel free to post. I really appreciate it. This is a large purchase and I appreciate your help.

edit: I like the omega line in general, and have a small wrist.

you could probably find a nice vintage Seamaster for a stack.

Be sure to get an automatic of some type. Sinn is a great company, which makes a great watch... Sinn 556 or 656 http://www.sinnwatch.com/ 556

For the Omega line, you will really want an automatic, and not one of the very entry level quartz models (i.e., something you'll regret in a few years).

The Sinn 556 and 656 are under 40mm in size, which is good for someone with a small wrist (unlike many watches, which per the trends, tend to be in excess of 42mm).

You should definitely be able to find a vintage automatic seamaster for about that much. and you would have a watch that is unique and memorable. Or head over to watchuseek and look through the forums and find watches that you like. They have a B&S too.

I love IWC but I'd avoid anything you'd find for $1000 as it's either fake or very well worn.

If you want a mechanical (I'm assuming?) dive watch like a Seamaster under $1000:

Stowa Prodiver or Seatime www.stowa.de

Westcoastime.com has some nice mechanical watches that aren't as flashy as Omega
but have nice movements and priced well under your budget.

I also like scouring the sales thread at timezone.com . Good stuff always come up there.

pre-owned seamaster, possibly a pre-owned sinn, or a new hamilton khaki.

If you don't mind the wait, Stowa or Archimede.
