I have had a Jiffy for about a year and both the wife and I swear by it. Less compact thant the Whirlpool perhaps but more performace oriented -- quickly prep a garment for immediate wear if required.

My rowenta dual functions as both an iron and a steamer. It's nice because it doesn't use a lot of space.

I agree on the Jiffy - works well.

A few points on steamers though that you may already know:

1. Some fabrics steam much better than others - wool for example steams very well.

2. The result will be wrinkless but still far from "crisp". At times I find myself missing the "pressed" look you can only get with, well.. a pant press.

I've got the whirlpool....happy so far. I've heard some bad reviews, but they're all from people living in the dreamworld where you don't have to iron shirts. For a sportcoat...it's superb. For jeans, wool slacks, etc.....very good.
