I had a job interview today. At the end of the interview, along with asking about whether I was attached (things were going so well that I told them I was "playing the field"), and about my car, I was asked how my business wardrobe was. I was slightly taken aback, and glanced down at my perfectly ironed blue houndstooth shirt and beautiful pink and navy polka dot tie before answering that my wardrobe was adequate.

lol Had they seen your car parked outside, or were they asking whether it was nice enough to meet clients in or something? So how was the interviewer's wardrobe? Was it "adequate" as well or was he wearing Kenneth Cole squaretoes?

Who was interviewing you? The boss from "The Office"?

The job would require some travel between cities, so I need a car that won't break down on the highway.

The interviewers were wearing typical Albertan business attire - dark shirt with some sort of stripe, no tie, some sort of bland casual shoe.

You can't ask someone about their marital status or sexual orientation (so being asked if you are attached should be a no-no). The others sound ok by me.

I had an interview earlier this week too but my interviewers were wearing almost perfectly squared shoes.

How much trouble can someone get in for asking those questions anyways?

I think Kenneth Cole wearers have some sort of protected status under the Civil Rights Act. That's the main reason nobody shoots them.

Other than that, your wardrobe is fair game, as long as it doesn't reflect your sexual preference(s).
