Are Gianfranco Ferre suits (the signature suits, not the Studio or 0001s) full canvas construction or are they fused? Can someone explain the pinch test that I have heard about? Thanks.

I don't know about the Ferre suits, but the pinch test is this-

pinch the lower front of the jacket and full the facing away (the cloth inside the jacket). If you can feel a third layer in between them, it is a canvas front. Don't bother pinching the lapel or the chest as this is not a safe indicator.

There's a big thread on canvas which explains this in more detail on Ask Andy

A quick and easy way to tell if at least the lapel is canvas is to look behind the lapel, if you see tons of small stitches then it is canvased. Of course, this says nothing about the body. Pinch below the last button on the front.
