I don't think they would be ridiculous. I'm a D/E width as well and they're comfortable on my feet. These shoes aren't particularly wide in my experience, which is why I went with wider sizes. I am selling these b/c I have two pairs, the other one I have is 11E and I like the elongated nature of that pair, but the 103E fits me about the same in terms of the toe box and width, it's just not as long as the 11E. Width on these is about 4.5"
