I just received this in the mail, and much to my dismay the darned thing doesn't fit. As can be expected of a Harris Tweed product, the fabric has a wonderful hand. The coat is in absolute mint condition aside from a small tear to the lining towards the bottom of the coat. An easy fix if you want to bother. The pattern is a dark and light brown houndstooth with a very subtle blue woven in. Truly unique and definitely gorgeous. Measurements: Chest: About 22". Shoulder: Raglan sleeves, so tough to measure, but they're about 18.5". Sleeve length: About 25". If any other measurements are needed, please just ask. MAKE ME AN OFFER!

As Ive said before, sometimes I miss winter (and then I go to the pool and the feeling passes)

Connemara, what is the length of the coat--bottom of collar to bottom hem down the back? Is it fully lined, and if so, with what? Is there a size indicated anywhere in the coat? What's its history? New, used?

Yes, it's fully lined...feels silky, so it's likely rayon. The length from bottom of collar to the hem: 41.5". There is no size tag, the only tag evident is the Harris Tweed one. It's a vintage piece, seems barely worn (judging by condition of fabric and buttons, which are both superb).

Ok, I'm leaving university on Thursday, and I really don't want to lug this home. If you're even remotely interested, make me an offer. As long as it's not something stupid like $5 shipped, I'll probably take it.

If there is no size tag, how are you reasonably sure that it's a 40/42? What size are you or how did it improperly fit you? I'm a 40R, would be interested if it would fit approximately.

Best way to know is to check the measurements against an overcoat you currently own. Upon remeasuring the chest, I got 23.5", which puts it comfortably in the 40R range. So it would likely fit you nicely.
