I recall warning RA's staff on one occasion that I'd be wearing a Neapolitan suit when I arrived. They were prepared and held up a large cross as if it would hold me at bay.

I keep the two worlds separate, something that I learned from the Cold War.

Being an architect I like the asymmetry of the lapels ... although I certainly see you point. As for the pattern matching at the darts ... it would have been nice if they aligned.

As a technical challenge or for a demonstration it would be clever to have one side of the jacket mirror the other. The lines would run like so ,V.

Would match the center back to create a V along the center back seam.

But in real life asymmetry would be preferred. Is this cloth from Dormeuil?

It was a 'house' cloth at RA. I'm not sure of the maker. Next time I e-mail with Brian I'll ask.

Is it a mistake when they give one that for which he asks? Still, it's only one of hundreds of pieces.
I was going to post a photo ... but I can't get the vertical hold to work:

Wait ... wait ... it's working. When one has a fair amount of clothing ... and I do have a 'fair' amount ... one can afford to go out on a limb more than a tad. I still wear it on occasion ... in the 'right' setting ... which is typically not among those on the Right.

Now the one below was indeed a mistake.

Last photo is Cyril Ritchard, no doubt.
Correct?

I don't actually know who it is. It was once suggested -- in Dumb Threads -- that it brought me to mind.

Now if you ask Foo ... you might find that he suffers a higher percentage of mistakes.

Went there the other day & confirmed that nothing is done on premises, other than measurements. The husband is unsure exactly where the work is done, but said it is "a big, big company in China."

Then I'd probably stick with the little company in China. They have a great cutter/stylist/fitter, who has already done a great job on the first suit for you.
