Hello everyone,
I have a slim foot and, when it came to finding a good-fitting pair of dress shoes several years ago, I discovered that 10D Ferragamo's fit me perfectly. Since then, I have bought several pairs of Ferragamos, all from the Originale line (as far as I can tell; they all have the large, jazzy gold logo embossed in the insole), all lace-up (I am not fond of hardware on my shoes), and all leather (or mostly leather) soled.

Unfortunately, I have noticed a distinct downturn in quality matched with an even more noticeable increase in price. As someone who prizes quality above all else, it is quite disappointing to see my two month old suede summer shoes being worn bare at the toe and sole. I am therefore looking to find another maker of slim, narrow toed (elegant) shoes within the sub-$600 price range. I would look into the Tramezza line but am so woefully disappointed by the quality-to-price ratio of SF that I simply don't have the heart. I also find Allen Edmonds to be a little to blocky-looking for my tastes (the same goes for Churches).

Does anyone have any recommendations, then, for a maker of high quality, slim-fitting, moderately priced dress shoes?

Thank you for your help,

EI

Don't dismiss the Tramezza line out of hand. I own 4 pairs and I'm very pleased. Also check the Romano Martegani thread. I own 5 pairs of Martegani's and they are also very nice and have a similar aesthetic.
