One guy at a bar praised the shoes highly and asked where he could get some, but I think he was half in the bag.

What should interest you more is that I was looking at something at another forum, and was astonished to find photographs of one of its regulars who has a larger head-to-body ratio than you do.

What? Is whnay out in California, too?
This was such a success last year that I did it again this year. My wife says that people are staring at my feet. I have not noticed that. I do feel sort of conspicuous.
you are not really wearing white bucks with a blue suit, right?
I really am. Linen suit though. That makes it OK, or less bad.
...as it happens white bucks (not even all that nice)...I will wear a blue linen suit to both.
well, I mean, we all make mistakes. I am not going to sit here and say that every one of my outfits is a homerun. It is Friday the 13th so you can always fall back on that. Maybe you should have worn a white belt, that way there would be no doubt that you actually meant to wear the white bucks and not that you forgot your real shoes at home.
I didn't forget. I just didn't want to bother. It's summer, it's California, I also brought seersucker pants and I am going on a boat trip. The white shoes will be useful for all that. In addition, I have one day of meetings and one nice dinner out. So the shoes won't be ideal for those but I don't care.
I guess since it's CAlifornia, you can pass off as one of those movie industry types. I am sure some bigwigs out there wear sneakers with their suits.
