Apizza Scholls in Portland is pretty great.

Gino's in Chicago.

Can't really say for certain in NYC, I need to make it a point to have more pizza during my next visit.

Of my own hometown varieties, I really enjoy Bono, Figlio, and the flatbreads at Hyde Park's new concept restaurant/lounge Eleven. Truffle oil, champagne grapes, and shiitake mushrooms make for great pizza toppings. Trashing it up at Hounddog's at 3 AM can be delightful as well.

Just went to Zachary's in Rockridge yesterday. Definitely did seem not yuppie. Thought the pizza was very good. Pic taken yesterday.

La Mia Pizzeria in Amherst MA circa 1981. Truly a gourmet meal. So good it must have been God's favorite Pizza

La Cucina de Pinnochio in Amherst from 1980-1988. So good you'd eat it to the point of hospitalization.

I was brought up on V & T's pizza, which is good but I wouldn't call it the best. I thought Una Pizza Napoletna was decent, but doesn't deserve the pizza hype it recieves.

Chicago deep dish almost shouldn't be considered pizza, its more of a caserole.

Much like the perfect burger, I'm still looking for the perfect pizza.

The best pizza I have ever had was at Lucali in Brooklyn this past summer. Between the pizza and calzone, I think I ate a pint of ricotta.

Louisiana Pizza Kitchen , Downtown New Orleans. Authentic brick oven baked Italian pizza; with local fine art for sale hanging on the walls.

We are talking about pizza, not pound cake.

Had Zacharys on Friday night---in LA.

I finished a meeting in SF around 1:00 and detoured to Rockridge on BART to buy a half-baked spinach+mushroom before heading to OAK for my flight home. I only got a handful of raised eyebrows from people watching me carry a big pizza box around the airport. One guy pointed at the box and said "Zacharys?"
