You could rename the options for this poll 'whnay.', 'A Y', and 'voxsartoria'. I don' t think I have enough of a sampling to pick, but I think the slouchiest should win. If someone tells me which that is, I'll cast my vote accordingly.

Vox's thread has 30,000 page views. How could you not know the answer?

Not to complicate things, but you would have to say which current cutter at A&S you are talking about. The differences between Tom and Edwin today are not terribly different than their differences within A&S.

I don't know if it is true today, but it was once also true that cutters would primarily use one tailor or another, so ideally you should know that as well.

I think that Hitchcock Sr. was adorable Nay's cutter...I haven't a clue who the tailor was.

The other batch of A&S and expat pics here, il vecchio's stuff, was by the late Brian Russell, who made for IL both at A&S and independently.

In other words, it is not like comparing one house to another. The current expats save Beamon have kept to the house style. While there's a degree of evolution, I think it is fair to say, for example, that the differences that might exist between Tom and Edwin existed also when they were cutting product with the A&S label.

Other differences in fabric, comfiguration, even aspects of fit, relate more to the customer...so, that gets back to what Foofling said.

That sure sounds personal, but if you prefer, you may read the choices as whnay, AY and voxsartoria, and of course, other.

My vote for "other" was really a vote for Mystery Anderson & Sheppard Expatriate Bespoke Tailorâ„¢ (MA&SEBTâ„¢). I may end up liking the home office more, we shall see.

Mahon has enough UK business to stop travelling, or is he just scratching SF off the itinerary?
