So I'm in the market to pick up some new shoes for the summer, I want them mainly for casual use but something I can also wear a shirt and tie with. I have a pair of Johnston & Murphys currently but I'm ready to try something new, so far I'm looking at the following: Martin Dingman Prescott's ($235):

Martin Dingman Bob's: ($225):

Cole Haan Air Grant ($138): http://images.colehaan.com//is/image...EComm/SEARCH_A Anyone have opinions on these shoes or anything else I should check out? My price limit is around $300

I don't think any of those are shoes you can wear with a shirt and tie. I like the first pair less than the other two. And the second pair? (I guess, the first pair also) Is that alligator print? Maybe other people disagree, but as a rule, I stay away from imitation exotic leathers. Real alligator = cool. Fake alligator = lame.

I agree of the imitation aligator but asI'm 19 and don't really have a grand to drop on real gator or I'd buy some

You don't think any of those could be worn with a shirt and tie?

So far I'm leaning towards the 2nd pair.

I apologize for the huge picture, I don't know why it blew up when you quoted it..

+1 for Tods. I have had several pairs of Tods drivers. You can find them on sale pretty easily.

1) They should not be worn with a shirt and tie

2) The faux gators are tasteless and ugly. Real gators would look out-of-place on a 19 year old.

3) Most driving shoes don't hold up well with daily walking

Take a look at some bucks? For $300 you could get white, navy, and khaki bucks. All would look better with a shirt and tie than any driving shoes.
