I just purchased a new pair of black AE Park Avenues from their outlet store. When I went to Nordstrom's to check out their sale, I saw the very similar AE Niles on sale for less than what I paid for the Park Avenues. Besides the different number of eyelets and the different back quarter treatment, are there any significant differences between them? Would you wear both in the same situations -- business, nice dinner, etc? Is one significantly "dressier" than the other? The Park Avenue, being ever so slightly more plain, would be just a tad dressier. I don't know enough about AE to comment on last and construction differences (if any). I had a pair of Park Avenues a while back, and thought they were very handsome shoes for the money.

The Niles has "pinked" (serrated) edges on the seams. That and the last are the biggest differences.

A lot of people here and on AAAC have had problems trying to find a good fit with the new #8 last. But, everyone's feet are different so you'll just have to try a few on and see how it works for you.

This is, far and away, the most important difference. Learn the last numbers, and you can save yourself significant time and trouble in finding the ones that fit you.

I just got a pair of AE Niles in brandy tonight for my bday. I also own a pair of AE Park Aves in brown. I must say the niles look stunning in person, much better than the pics I saw online.

I think both styles are suitable for similar occasions but I am guessing my niles are especially great for summer wear.

And at $109 new in box (not 2nds) these were a steal

I found the #8 last in the Niles to be too wide for my foot, while the #5 in the PA fits just fine. I didn't try sizing down a half size in the Niles, but that might have been the solution since it is a longer last.
