I'm ordering a natural belt from LGC and I'm wondering aside from age and finger grease, what needs to be done to develop a patina on the belt. Particular creams or conditioners?

Thanks

I avoid using any colored creams, conditioners or waxes on your belt. Too worried about it staining my trousers or my shirts.

This is good advice, but I personally prefer to put more emphasis on Step 2 than step 1.

Damn, I've been caught. Changy, only order 1.25" belts, that's what I wear. And make sure the loop on the belt is close enough to the buckle; some suit makers put their first belt loop close to the gig line and custom belt makers but the loop to far out so you can't get a proper gig line with the belt buckle. Especially western/gun belt makers that use chicago screws so you can change out your belt buckle.
