Dark spot on brown shoes

Hi,

Purchased these recently which was originally treated with non-saphir products which I found quite upsetting. After treating it with renomat, dubbin (leaving it 24 hours to absorb), followed by renovateur and 2 coats of cream polish (medium brown) they came out fantastic. Unfortunately on the right shoe i initially noticed a dark patch under the shoe latches. I re-treated this area with a some coats of Reno (which am not sure did much) and then applied some thin coats of dubbin (another 24 hour dry). After applying renovateur I noticed they became dark (and I think I made the area bigger). Upon close inspection it looks like some of the factory burnishing dye made its way here which I hoped the Reno would lift but hasn't.

Any advice? Maybe they need drying out over the weekend.

Second hand ?

Perfectly natural, you are already spending too much time on them so accept it and wear them! Using non 'saphir' products is neither a crime nor is it sign of bad treatment.

What he said. I can't see anything wrong with the shoe in question and to suggest that Saphir products are only ones which should ever be used is just plain silly.
