Dancing with a suit Jacket?

When you dance at a formal event, do you prefer to dance without the suit jacket or with the suit jacket? To me, it seems reasonable to dance without the suit jacket given the jacket has higher armholes and a lightweight breathable material. So with that said, which of the two is more socially acceptable?

I'd swing in my waistcoat, but never wear one, so I leave the jacket on. It may be less comfortable, but saves the lady and everyone else the sight of a sweaty shirt after a spirited lindy hop.

I say leave the jacket on esp. if you haven't a vest -- this whole dancing business in a white shirt is horirble looking.

Yes, leave the jacket on or you'll look like a drunkard. It's not hard to dance in a suit jacket, I managed to dance Lanciers in one.

Only for the acrobatic solo stuff though, I think. I don't recall him ever dancing in shirtsleeves with Ginger. Can't imagine it, really.
