I need to get a three piece suit for my wedding and I can't seem to find any on the racks at the bigger stores in the city. Looked at Hickey Freeman, Bloomingdales, Saks, etc. My price range is $1000-2000 max. Thinking I could get a discount at ralph lauren I tried on a purple label 3 piece and it fit and looked perfect on me. Unfortunately, I misunderstood my friend who said they could get the discount - so the suit was way out my price range.

I went to a few places like Michael Andrews, Against Nature, Louis Purple, Sebastien Grey and they all seem to provide the same service, however I couldn't really get a feel for their finished product. I also went to Mr Ned, often recommended here and am a little concerned I would get a business suit, which I don't want. I like a traditional look at fit - though a little fitted.

I would greatly appreciate a recommendation if anyone thought any of the custom suit places in my price range could make a quality suit with a similar fit to the purple label suit I tried on. BTW I also tried on a black label 3 piece and it fit awful. I didn't like the skinny tapered trousers and shorter jacket.

I was very happy with Martin Greenfield for the charcoal 3 piece I purchased from them for my wedding. As far as the style I had Mr. Greenfield measure me, though he is the expert and I took his advice you do have options to look at in terms of fit / style ... quality of the fabric and work is top notch and the visit to the factory is truly memorable.
