I am a new member here. I have a number of Allen Edmonds shoes and Alden along with some John Lobb. I am curios about all the custom shoe/boot makers that I see on Ebay. Many of them sell for just a few hundred dollars. How do they do that? Obviously they don't do fittings as a conventional custom made footwear maker would. Do they use substandard materials? I am wondering if it is worth 2oo to buy a pair of lace up boots

Thanks

You get what you pay for, if anything. At best you're not getting a bespoke fit (just generic lasts) and non-premium materials and possibly build methods. At worst, they're taking your money and running.
