CRAP!!! Dropped my shoe, split/cracked the leather

Being the klutz that I am, I dropped my black AEs - my best pair of shoes - and now it has a nice little crack/rip in the leather, right in the freeken middle of the toe. (It makes it look like a giant black penis tip, actually.)

The crack/rip/whatever seems fairly small. There is a *very* tiny "flap" of loose leather on one side. What should I do? I was thinking super-glue, but I'm wondering if I can just apply a few coats of polish to make a "shell" the crack over. What do y'all think? A step-by-step guide would be helpful - for example, should I apply Lexol on/over it first?

Repairing torn/cut leather is difficult and there are no guarantees, but you can try smoothing it/waxing/buffing. I would not use superglue.

You can also try cutting a ****** in the other shoe and starting a peep show.

Remember most people are viewing your shoes from around five feet distance. What you think is a huge blemish is probably barely visible from eye height.

Your accident doesn't appear to be very serious. Although the toe area is more noticeable than some of the other parts of the shoe, it's also luckily for you, not an area of stress - which creases with wear or else your cut/crack could get worse. Good thing your shoes are black too as this will help in camouflaging.

Superglue and leather uppers don't generally mix, if the cut is deep enough to need filling you could try neoprene glue, which is waterproof & flexible. If the cut isn't deep enough to fill with an adhesive go for shoe cream layered over with wax polish. Repeat as necessary.
