Sitting on wooden stools and dining chairs while hunched over a laptop for hours at time every day seems like one of those things people pay for later in life.

If I could cut down by half the amount of time I spend each day rearranging my screen, shifting my mouse pad, dragging my phone charger or sliding in my chair, well, I mean, I think I'd only have like four more minutes but I would be miserable with a fixed, small space like that.

Fun fact: at WaHo working the line is so important and ingrained in the culture that if the President walks into a restaurant and they are in the weeds, he too has to work the line.

When I work, I have very little time to spare for even restroom breaks. The added time and effort it takes to go through a hallway and down a flight of stairs to the kitchen, especially for snacks, means I just won’t bother making the trip nine out of ten times.

(I just explained. Going through a hallway and down the stairs already makes it not worthwhile or impractical a lot of the time. When I’m plugged into multiple work streams that don’t pause for anything, even finding time to use the restroom or grab snacks can be so challenging!!!)

Also, yes, I too like an adjustable desk on occasion. They apparently greatly improve one's posture. Ergo: I made some WFH area upgrades.

The best investment, IMO, for any office set-up especially WFH, is a comfortable adjustable chair for personalized back support and easy movement and pivot. With a good chair I can work just about anywhere.
This is the only statement over the last ~10 pages here that even makes a damned bit of sense.

That, and WFH areas that double as personalia tchotchke displays are just as bizarre and horrendous as WFO areas that double as personalia tchotchke displays.

Are you able to comprehend that not everyone has space in their homes for totally separate work vs. personal spaces?

We used to post things that we like. Now all this is, is a place where a handful of jerks lurk and wait for whoever will have the audacity to like something - so they can jump on that, rip it apart with entirely ridiculous grand statements, fugazi architect or antiquaire credentials, and totally personal preferences - then pepper the whole thing with vague attempts at middle school humor.

It fucking sucks.

post things you like.
