Clothes do not fit me anymore and I'm struggling to find ones that do

I started a bulking program in mid February 2015. Before the program, I weighed under 100 lbs and was a size 28 on my waist. By end of May 2015, my weight was over 120 lbs. At some point, I started noticing that a lot of my clothes: jeans, skinny pants, underwear, khakis, shorts, and other bottoms were super tight / not fitting me well. This was very unfortunate, as a lot of these were new and had fit me very well over the winter / early Spring.

I'm guessing my waist size increased at least 2-3 sizes, however my stomach has remained unchanged, and is still flat / lean / slightly defined.

I order my clothing in bulk to save significantly, and it's incredibly problematic when none of my clothes in my bulk order fits me. I have to go through a bunch of returns and reorder, and I've been repeating this process since end of May 2015. For example, I recently returned 15 pairs of jeans. These were size 29s.

I do go into the stores and try them on before ordering, but I guess my estimates are off, because clothes seem to shrink after the first wash.

How can I determine what size waist will be comfortable? 28 and 29 are definitely not good. But even my 30 size shorts and pants are also not comfortable. I don't see why I have to jump to size 31 or 32, when most guys my body weight are easily slipping in size 28s. I've always been super lean / skinny and the weight gain hasn't changed this, and I still get complements from my female boss.

What are other folks' experience with bulking and changing waist size / getting new clothes?
