I think these have been for sale for a while now...perhaps 6 months. I check periodically because my size UK9 has been sold out.

Sorry, no. When looking at the specs it sort of seems like a lot of money for a shined toe, but could be wrong.

Ok, I give up. Anybody have any idea what Masai leather is? Couldn't find anything online.

It's apparently the type of leather they use for their Crown collection.

I think it’s just an upgraded leather. They made a few other tweaks too which they spell out on the website.
Basically this is the consul shoe with a few upgrades and a small production run. Incremental ROI is probably not there, but this is a great shoe, so I see the appeal.

A nice shoe. If I didn’t already own a pair of Consul (diamond sole) and these were on sale in my size, I might consider them. ?

Does anyone have any details about the Masterclass line? I can't find much other than one or two anectdotes about them being of at least C&J handgrade quality.
Just picked these up and I like a bit of backstory (Ibsen model, 75 last)

Just got a pair of Church's Stevenson in the masterclass line off e- bay and they are superb . I will post photos soon.

Having just seen the price increases for Church's on their website, I can say that I won't be buying Church's. That's gone over the top IMO.

I agree. Was shocked when I looked at their site yesterday.

That has to be a mistake. Their limited edition model is £610. To have the regular at £720 is clearly an error.

It seems to be a massive increase but not on all models. I'm hoping it's an I.T glitch. I have always been Church's biggest advocate but with these prices, coupled with some new models with cemented soles, I will be sticking to my 9 pairs and moving to C&J, Cheaney and Trickers.
