Chukka Boots, Denim - but which Sports Coat?

As summer is approaching here in central Europe, I am considering to buy a new sports coat. The coats I already have (Boglioli Dover Jacket - navy wool, Suitsupply Havana - blogger blue wool, two denim sports coats (middle blue and light blue), dark grey worsted wool sc) don't match any of my jeans (mostly dark denim), although those coats (all without heavy inner construction/padding) work fine with chinos or dress pants.

With denim, they look too "plain", especially if they are buttoned up right and not worn unbuttoned. I think a 3-roll-2 as the Boglioli K. Jacket would make that problem even worse because of the higher buttoning point.

So, what kind of sports coat is there to solve my problems? I think flannel should work because of the thick structure, but it's to warm wo wear in summer (about 25-35° Celsius). What colors, fabric and cut do you prefer? Check? Windowpane? Stripes? Should I try hemp or hopsack? Unbutton the coat or choose a lower buttoning if worn with low waisted denim?

Thank you all in advance!

Brown jackets look good with blue jeans.

Tobacco linen, for example.

Alternatively, cotton takes dye well so you can get some "punchier" colours.

Thank you, Marsay. I forgot to mention that I have black hair (asian type) - so unfortunately brown does not really work (which is a shame because I saw some nice denim-tobacco combinations on pinterest).

Matching your jacket to your hair is splitting hairs in my opinion, but if dark and mid brown are out, go for dove grey cotton or linen or blends, or tan.

Well, it is not only the hair, but also the skin color: African or afro-american guys can wear brown without a doubt, but for asians with slightly brown-yellowish skin, it is very difficult. But I will definitely try cotton/linen dove grey.
