Hello guys! I'm in the market for a Light Blue Mac Raincoat, and came across this Jacket from Guards of London, problem is; I want a mac/raincoat I can wear over my sport jacket, ala Mr Frank Bullitt.

The Sport Jacket in question has a length from the bottom of the collar to the rear hem of 31 in/78cm. The coat has a centre back length of 33in/86cm at chest size 40 - i'm a 46 chest, for clarification.

Could it work?

It would cover the sportcoat but IMO it’s too short. It should reach your mid-thigh at least. One argument is functional (protection from rain/wind) and the other, admittedly weaker argument, is that coats usually look better when they’re closer to knee length.
