What did you dislike about the Sid's shape? The dark brown does look ugly, but I was considering ordering the Sid in the lighter brown color when it becomes available in my size. I own Brando lace-ups in cognac and love them, so if you could use the Brando as a comparison point in your description that would be really helpful. Thanks!

I should've just grabbed those black Brando lace ups on e-bay awhile back. My size and they were only around $100.

really? i can't imagine a frye boot feeling cheap.

i agree that the short sids aren't super exciting but i really like the tall ones with the top rolled down.

I was really surprised also. They felt and looked like pleather. They are made in Mexico so I don't know if that makes a difference.

I like these a lot also. The tall ones are cool too. How do you think they would look with the laces not tied so tightly? I want laceup boots that can do the tuck.

Weird...I just recieved a pair of Brandos in cognac and the Sids in dark brown. I ordered both styles to see which ones I like better. They are both beautiful boots but I think I am going to keep the brandos because I like the color better. The only thing I don't really care for about the Brandos are the high shaft but I can live with it considering I'm not going to be lacing them all the way to the top.

Overall they are both beautiful boots and I doub't you will be dissapointed with either choice. I can verify though that the Sids are made in Mexico. It's written on the box.

How do Frye's fit; true to size, larger, or smaller?

I like the oxford but it's the Dark Brown color and made in Mexico as well. The lighting on different websites can be deceiving.

General consesus is that they run fairly large. I had to size down 1/2 on my Brando Engineers. Mexican made ones may be different.

I sized down half a size on my brandos and they fit me like a charm.

I really like those in the "teak". Of course they don't have my size. This is really starting to piss me off lately. I've tried to buy a half dozen jeans, boots, and jackets in the last month and nobody has my ******* size in anything.
