Most around here think the majority of Charvet ties are too flashy, kind of bold ties, I would tend to agree on the norm.

I like Charvet ties as well. While i will admit that i don't own many, they make a fantastic knot and dimple.

Charvet ties tie a nicer knot than most of my ties, but they pull if you look at them funny.

I've found both of these to be true. Luckily I much prefer the smoother silk ones to those with lots of stringy bits to get pulls. :p

It's mystifying why the stores that carry Charvet don't offer more solids. The blue and navy ties are stunning:

The delicate shades of color are incomparable. You cannot find them anywhere else. Charvet is the place, as Jean Cocteau said, "where the rainbow finds ideas":

It's too bad that outside of Paris, it's more common to find patterns like this:

^^^ Probably caters to women who buys ties for their husbands/boyfriends/father/brother etc?

Sorry for changing the topic but it is likely the people involved in this thread have relevant information regarding my query

I live in London and the only place I know that sells Charvet shirts is Selfridges.

However they are quite expensive (almost £400) and they don't seem to go on sale.

What is the best way to acquire them at a more reasonable price? Maybe go to France during sale periods?

    txs

They really are stunning. I've got a burgundy herringbone that's definitely one of my faves.
Neiman Marcus has them available on their website, a few for slightly cheaper than that ($445 and 485) http://www.neimanmarcus.com/Charvet...ef/template/EndecaDriven&allStoresInput=false I don't know if I've ever seen them on true sale/clearance prices though.

Indeed. I've got a one in black. Perhaps my all-time favourite tie.
