"Casual" sport coat vs. "business" suit jacket

I've seen a lot of guys dressing down sport coats/jackets when out socially. Jacket, plain black shirt, jeans, with dress or more casual shoes.

I like the look, but don't know how to figure out the jacket part.

My suits are very business. Bespoke, well-fitted, but don't seem right for the above look. It appears the casual sport coat is a different style altogether. More relaxed shoulders, no pocket (maybe), shorter, etc. Or, am I wrong, and do people dual-purpose their business suit jackets??

I've looked around briefly, and saw that Theory makes a casual, but nice looking jacket that has relaxed shoulders, shorter, etc.

I'm trying to avoid the sharp shoulders, stiff lapel, business look, so leaning towards finding a jacket that is more suitable for going out to dinner, a club, or somewhere that calls for nicer casual look.

thanks!

Suit jackets are namely that and they are not 'dual purpose' items. As you surmise the cut is very different and renegades from suits should stay with their brother trousers and waistcoats. Should the trousers be damaged beyond repair then the orphaned jacket has an appointment with a convenient fire as it has no further use.
