Carmina is better in that the shoes are Goodyear welted. But Magnanni gives you a lot of bang for your buck since they can oft be found at a steep discount.

When My Magnannis wore out I tossed them. The Carminas will most definitely get a resole or two.

This. Carmina is goodyear, magnanni mainly bologna.

The only thing I like of Magnanni is the finishings, some of them very nice. I don't like its lasts, too italian and elongated.

I'm wearing a pair of Magnanni Blas penny loafers as I type.

I love these things. Scored them for $70 on the bay a while back (NWT).

The two are hardly comparable. Magnanni uses a Bologna construction and Santoni design. The only thing really good about the brand, is that it can be bought for 50 euro during the sale. Carmina is goodyear welted, uses much better letter and the designs are all the more classic. I'll take Carmina over Magnanni any day.

The Magnannis I've seen at Nordstorm Rack are total crap. The leather is horrible.
