Caring For Waxed Cotton Coat

I'm interested in getting a waxed cotton coat, like a barbour. What sort of care and maintenance do these jackets require? Do these jackets require an annual wax treatment? Or, can it go years and years without treatment?

Also, is there a specific method for removing wrinkles in this type of coat? I know that wrinkles are supposed to give it character, but I want it to be my option as to how much "character" my coats have.

Anyone with experience owning a waxed cotton coat chime in!

You should wax it about once every year or two.

Wax it too often and you will go blind. Actually, the Barbour stuff requires very little maintenance.

you can get rid of the wrinkles by holding a hair dryer to it. Not too close, just back and forth over the wrinkles. Note I have not done this, but been told my all the manufactures that I have purchased waxed coats from.
