I see these at Saks on sale for $95-145. They look very nice; just wondered if anyone here had any experience with them, especially re: shrinkage.

Appreciate any other thoughts. I've been buying H&K but looking to expand and liked the colors/patterns.

I have one, it fits huge on me. Unfortunately, no noticable shrinkage. That is, it still fits horribly. Nice collar though. I only wear it if I know I'm not taking my jacket off.

I recently bought one on sale at Bloomingdales. It's fair, at best. I like the collar - little tie space (my preference) and nice spread - but the general fit is just ok. For the money - even the sale prices you quoted - I think you can do better with any of the more reasonably priced MTM shops disccussed with frequency on SF.

How funny that you like the collar and that was the exact reason why I didn't buy any (brand new, current season for 60% off). Something about the way the collar fit just pressed and irritated me.

The collar is definitely large on mine. Tall, long points. It's a big collar.

For my budget, they are the best shirts I own and most of the waywt pics I am wearing one. The collars are excellent and high, as I prefer. The fabrics and patterns are good as well. They aren't the slimmest shirt but the arm hole is decently high, I do have them taken in 2" on each side and they work out very well.

edit: you inquired about shrinkage and it has been minimal in my exp.

Is there a difference between US market Canali and European market Canali? I have several Canalis and I really like them, especially the fit which is pretty much perfect and fit. There hasn't been noticeable shrinkage. The collars in shirts available here tend to be quite spread in comparison to many other RTW shirts.

This may not be the appropriate thread for this, but why don't italian shirtmakers make 16.5 - 33? I can't buy Canali, Kiton, etc. without getting sleeves altered.

I second this. The fabric and colors are all very nice, but they will definitely fit you blousey unless you take them to your tailor for some work. The other thing I noticed is that the one's that have chest pockets, the pockets "feel" like they are way too low. Try them on first and assume you will need to take them to your tailor.

There is a big difference, the european market Canali's I have seen are inbetween quite slim fitting and really slim fitting. High collars i have seen were wide spread or very cut away, I thought the collars were really nice and flattering on a tall slim person. Maybe not so on a short neck broad jaw (more american

Anyone have experience with how Canali shirt fabric quality compares to that of other makers, or to fabric brands like Alumo and Thomas Mason?

It's all over the place. Some nice fabrics, some crappier ones... Mostly I find their patterns annoying. Too many stripes.

I generally like their patterns and colors but I find them to be too blousy and the cheap ultra thin buttons are annoying. Their collars are okay for my face too.

For me not worth anything more than $50 when being cleared out, which is how I got the three I own. At those Saks on sale price ($95+) I prefer Zegna on sale if going "Italian".
