Can you help me match this vest with a shirt?

I recently purchased a very beautiful Agnona sweater vest on eBay and am wondering what to match it with. It doesn't seem to go with any of my existing shirts (I see this as an opportunity).

The photos I've attached make the sweater seem a little darker than it is. It is closer to a grass green, which is most evident in the 3rd picture.

Thank you for your opinions.

I'd say any of the 3 colours of the checks would be a good start, but not the main colour (what you describe as grass green). Light brown may work as well. And since the top is a bit busy, I'd go for a solid shirt.

Thanks!

Light brown, as in http://www.jcrew.com/catalog/product...d=prod83976273 (click on Hickory) or is that too dark?

I do have a dark brown, solid shirt that I'd tried with it and it looked quite silly.

My first thoughts exactly... light sort-of caramel or sandy brown, also maybe a really light green like a dull mint.
I'd probably just go white shirt, brown rest (suit, or slacks)

Lavender would work.

lavender is a great suggestion. i would stay away from brown. i really dislike green with brown. its too earthy.
