Can a man wear a thin belt (3/4")?

I've got a belt that's only 3/4" thick. Is this too thin? too feminine looking?

What occasion? casual (chinos, polo, jack purcells)?

thin belts are great.....if you look at gabardine trousers from the '50s many of them have such small loops that they were intended for belts under 1".

but I'm not into disproportionate belt width with loop width....so a thin belt needs trews with a short belt loop

As I remember very well. Never did like them much. I assume the OP means 3/4-inch wide, not thick. A 3/4-inch-thick belt would be very massive indeed.

As I recall, some of the men's dress belts back in the days of my adolescence and post-adolescence were as narrow as 1/2 inch.

Yes, I've seen them awfully narrow, though I don't know if I've seen them at 1/2". That's one narrow belt. I know my grandfather has a couple that are 3/4" or narrower. I'd definitely agree that they can look fine on a guy, but only with pants that are made for such things. A tiny belt on big pants, or one that is languishing inside what are obviously much bigger belt loops, looks disproportionate.
