I'm looking for some advice. I can buy a new pair of Brioni shoes for $ 300.00 from a seller with a 100% postive rating online. I would like to know if this is a fair price or that my money is better spend on another pair or brand.

The answer is no, I would stay away from Fashion house branded shoes, not sure if the pair you posted is blake stitched or good-year-welted, typically fashion house shoes are blake stitched. the leather is embossed "genuine" leather to look like croc/lizard skin, genuine leather is 1 level below full grain calf skins used by SF approved shoemakers. If you have 300 dollars budget and are just looking for a pair of black shoes, you can get a pair of Carlos Santos or Lof & Tung from from Skoaktiebolaget.com.
https://www.skoaktiebolaget.com/collections/lof-tung
Other places to try: https://www.afinepairofshoes.co.uk/
Both places have excellent service, I see you are size 9 (Same size as myself), take a look at the Buy and Sell pages on SF lots of wayyy better shoes being dropped by the good folks of this forum.
For example this pair of Alfred Sargent monks has all the bells and whistles of a SF approved dress shoe: full grain leather, oak bark tanned outsoles, close channel sole stitching, asymmetrical Alfred Sargent 109 last, stacked leather heal, fine rolled waist, you can pick up a lasted 109 8F shoe tree from afinepairofshoes as well

https://www.afinepairofshoes.co.uk/...ucts/as-exclusive-lasted-beech-shoe-trees-109

size 8F translates to a 9 US, its unused, just need a coat of saphir polish to make it look like 1000 bucks.
Good hunting

Thanks a lot for responding. They are Goodyear shoes. I would have expected Brioni to use full grain leather but i am not sure. Ill guess i will look into your suggestions. Thanks loads

Generally better to purchase shoes from a company that specializes in shoes.

Brioni has offered some great shoes at times, however. I once had a pair that was produced by Silvano Lattanzi and were beautifully crafted.

This particular pair seems questionable to me. The insole logo looks off, the strange logo placement on the sole, etc. It would not surprise me if they were counterfeit but I am certainly no expert.

Thanks for the advice, i think its best not to buy these shoes. Ive googled the article number and they are being sold on a russian site for +- $ 450,00 new. They also sell Brioni shoes in exotic leathers for the same price. Im guessing that they must be fake then, i dont think Brioni Stingray shoes are ment to cost $ 450.

Probably not "fake" Brioni (though it is possible), but more likely just these Brioni shoes are made by an "average" Italian shoe factory (ie. same maker for Bruno Magli, Santoni, etc), leather used is not real exotic leather (expect to be 600+ atleast, full retail ~1000+) but corrected/ embossed cheap leather (though genuine). The price range is in the Bruno Magli / Santoni secondary market price range.

I took the advice not to buy the Brioni and bought this pair of Edward Green shoes instead. They are not new but look great and I believe this to be a great brand. View attachment 1050197

God what a beautiful pair of shoes -- regardless if they are used. Clearly they were well taken care of. I wonder how much you paid for them?

Good use of your $300. Would have went with Carmina, since I never score some of the deals other SF members come up with.

No true, many fashion house branded shoes are well made. A couple of examples are RL made by Edward Green and Crockett&Jones, also Brioni by Silvio Lattanzi. These are just a few examples. There are many posts on SF that discuss high-end fashion branded shoes. You mentioned GY and Blake stitched. Rapid Blake and Norvegese are just as good.
