^Thanks; I do the same thing. They're slim and inconspicuous, basically about as flashy as carrying around a folder, but are still quite classy all around (and, as you mentioned, convenient for holding phone, keys, etc.)

Seems like a good travel or weekend case. But I wouldn't advise bringing that to an interview.

Bought this yesterday after a good bit of research. They aren't widely available at all here in the UK and I had to hunt one out. Very nice though and will only get better. Goes into rotation with a my Tumi when I need to carry a lot of stuff and my Angler's Bag when it's informal.

Yes, I wish they made them in lighter colours too but this is the only option, although I have seen a few pics of them lightening up a little as they break in. As there are only a few Filson dealers in the UK and even fewer of them will do any kind of deal I'd rather not reveal the price (especially in light of the "discussions" going on between Filson and Crane's), but suffice to say I feel like I got a very good deal.

Cheers,

TB

^The two leather envelopes are A.G. Spalding & Bros and the black with the clasp is an old Prada in "Spazzolato" calf from 6 or 7 years ago. It's VERY minimal and actually quite well done... ne'er a triangle to be seen and only a VERY discreet and tiny "PRADA" inscribed on the brass/goldtone clasp.

Yeah, that's what I like about the older Prada pieces; they often had an interesting old/new sort of vibe going on and they weren't as concerned with making sure that the "PRADA MILANO" tab was visible from 100 meters. They pop up now and again for sale and you can general find them fairly reasonably priced; the model number is VA0004 they also made them in a number of different colors/materials, includingone version in a shiny black croco... but IIRC, it was $4000-5000 and so I didn't do more than just glance and put it back down.

Does anyone have any information about a company called "Levenger"? I picked up a pretty old messenger bag/portfolio at an estate sale (basically free), and it's Made in England by Levenger. I'd imagine it's 20-30 years old.. pretty mint condition. It's made of blue canvas and a very nice soft brown leather. I'll try to get some pictures up.

I understand that Levenger used to be a UK brand 20-30 years ago. Now they have a series of US stores with marginal quality goods.

I've seen a few vintage pieces that were of good quality and construction.

Here's some crappy cell phone pictures: The inside logo is a tree (maybe an oak?). Above it the text says "Levanger" and below that "Made of Genuine Full-Grain Leather". Below that is "Made in England"
