Briefcase Appreciation thread

That is a beautiful bag. I'm looking to buy my first briefcase, and love the simple lines of this one, Valentrex, and Prada but they are pretty darn expensive. I've seen some posts on here for people that are buying bags from smaller manufactures that appear to be much less expensive, for example Narragansett Leathers . I don't want to buy cheap, but ideally I don't want to pay just for a name. Does anyone have any experience with a similar "clean/minimalist" briefcase similar to this one that's less than $1000?
Also, I went on the SAB website and it appears the above bag is closer to $1500 when you convert from Pounds. Any idea where you can get it for $1200?

It was on Mr. Porter, IIRC. It's been a few weeks, but I think that was where I found it.

Hi gentlemen,

While I save for a REAL briefcase, I came to the one you can see below. It's used (by a relative) and thus, free. Quite simple, not even sure if it's 100% high quality leather (or actual leather for that matter). Thoughts? Is it good enough to use it for a couple of months before I buy a real one?

Looks nice to me. If you're happy, rock it out. Maybe you'll find you don't need to buy a more expensive one.

My 14 month old Filson 258 ... the leather parts have lightened in color and the canvas is still breaking in. I love this bag.
