Other then the pebble grain vs. smooth grain leather and the double handle on the Schlesinger, there doesn't seem to be much difference.

I can't speak to the two items you linked, but I recently picked up a used Korchmar brief case (hard-sided) on eBay, and it seems to be solidly built and overall good quality.

Attractive, but it's odd to see such a narrow briefcase in such a soft leather, does it expand very much?

As you can see, it expands quite a bit. Its capacity is very similar to my SAB therefore, the Gucci boar may go up for sale.

My brief cases.

I recently purchased a couple of Saddleback briefcases. These are replacements/additions to a couple of cases I've had for years.

The brown brief bag is an Atlas bag that I received as a gift from my wife back in 1990. It has served me well. The black document case is from Dents. I purchased it in London back in the early 1990's.

I bought the Saddlebacks because I wanted something a bit more casual to match my current dress and workplace setting. The big Saddleback expands to be huge, and is great for travel, when I'm carrying too much stuff. The smaller Saddleback is my new everyday case, perfect for my laptop, some papers, and my lunch.

Here are my mid-sized bags.
Here is a Brooks Brothers Peal bag.

Here is my Gold Pfeil:

And here is my favorite. I bought it at a leather tradeshow in Bogota, Colombia. It only has three components: leather, twine, and a hammered brass buckle.
