Hello all.

Could I ask you to take a quick look at these pictures. This is a new case, lightly used for a few hours, and these wear patterns show up. Would you consider this normal?

It's a very well regarded brand. Full grain harness belting leather. I bought new from an authorised dealer.

My concern is whether this is some kind of quality issye/defect. The creases are in unexpected places on the body of the bag. The creases at the handles don't really bother me, although they only came in on one side.

I'd rather be reassured that this is completely normal than go through an exchange exchange (dealer already offered one). I do love the case.

I did start a thread in Style Advice and the only reply so far was reassuring. Figured I might get some more comments here while I mull it over.

Thanks for looking.

Ian Clegg here. Sorry to hear about your bag. To be perfectly honest that shouldn't happen within the first couple of hours. I can see the bag creasing a bit in the handles area due to a stiff leather being moved back and forth but not on the briefcase's body as it has here.

1. Which store did you purchase this from? I would be curious to know if the bag was crushed during transit? It looks like it could have had weight pushed on it for a bit of time which might have caused this.

2. This could be from a section of the hide which had a slight weak spot in it. Not a necessarily defect but just a softer section within the cut that wasn't as firm as the surrounding area. Our team looks out for this on each bag but sometimes it can be very difficult to notice any issue unless client like yourself brings it to our attention. The bag shouldn't give you any issue down the road if you don't mind the creases and will hold its shape and wear just fine.

I would like to personally resolve this for you. You can contact me at [email protected] or just have one of the specialists at the store reach out. I think either a price correction on the product or my team can make you a new bag. Things like this can happen and I want all my clients to be happy with their purchases. Hope this helps!

Best,
Ian Clegg

Ian,

Thanks for attending to my post. The vendor is dealing with the issue very well and has offered a return and replacement, of which I am availing.

The bag was packed very well so I don't think there was any issue arising from transit/delivery.

Thanks again for your attention.

Hi folks -

Recently found this thread and love the content in here. I'm a leatherworking hobby enthusiast and recently wrapped up a new briefcase to use for my day-job. Thought I'd share - it's a double-gusset bag with an accordion-style construction. Made with vegetable tanned leather from the Conceria Walpier tannery in Italy, and lined with natural pigskin. Hope you like it

Hi Guys,

Few handle photos from current product development. This is the same handle we use for our Attache but in the case of this briefcase its in oak bark tanned Bridle leather from J & FJ Baker
