I wouldn't go that far - I have some of the leather thats legit and I know Casemaker here has as well. You just need to know who you're dealing with and make sure they aren't being creative in their descriptions..

Actually casemaker used the last of his Russian Leather to make my top frame case last year. And we had trouble sourcing it.

OK, has had then :) I have all I'll ever be able to get at this point as well, supply has pretty much run dry. The point is that there are entirely legitimate products still being made, you just need to ask the right questions and whilst cynicism is very sensible the real stuff can still be had.

What the well dressed man at No. 11 Downing street is carrying :)

You'll have to hope he stays there for a few more years so he can build his collection :)

Very good stuff...

Really cool . . . but, semi-serious question . . . why does the gentleman feel the need to broadcast who he is on his briefcase?

I suspect it may be fair comment to say that senior Ministers do not have a small ego!

Tradition, and the importance of the 'office'. A snap of the outgoing case, and the new.
A most excellent improvement Simon! Congrats on such an important and prestigious commission!
