! I just picked up a pair of Lobb Becketts and I'm on the fence when it comes to the fit. I typically take a 8E in my other Lobbs or a 8.5/9 in 888 EG's. The Becketts are giving me abit more heel slippage than what I remember from my other shoes pre-break in. Can someone else who owns these shoes comment on the fit? will the heel slippage greatly decrease after breaking them in?

I have a pair of Becketts as well as a pair of the Vale and Woodcote on the 8000 last. I've never had slippage with them.

If you love them you could try a tongue pad. But, they sound like the wrong last for you even though it is your JL size.

BTW, I have two pairs of very expensive shoes that work for me by using a tongue pad. Without them I would have to go down a size and then it would be too small in the toe area. All shoes were not made to fit all shapes so a little tweaking is sometimes needed.

I would sell. The problem with a large shoe is the unusually large amount of creasing in the vamp, toe box area. These wrinkles are typically longer/wider and are more pronounced than creasing that occurs on a properly fitting shoe. Unless you are a 16 year old just entering puberty, I would sell and get as much for them while they are still in like-new condition

They actually fit a 9D perfectly but for some reason they are slipping on me. I think they would be too small for a 9.5 in the toe box.

I have those in what I feel is my regular size. Actually I have noticed that some of my Lobbs have "heel slippage" even with the best size (meaning the shoe is too tight if I go a half size down). So I wouldn't worry about it as long as the whole shoe isn't completely loose on your foot

I recently went through a moment of enlightenment. I sold all of my shoes that don't fit perfectly (well close), and I decided to not compromise on fit. There are enough shoes out there that properly fit, and I am not going to give up on that, just because they were on sale.
