(In re-reading the original question, I see that the request may be for the recommendation of a London source for a blazer, rather than a recommendation for a blazer to take to London.  Perhaps my post might be of some general use)    The db model they sell year-round at Ralph Lauren is beautifully detailed and executed.  It has some animation and personality--nipped waist, hand stitching along lapel and pocket edges, a mid-weight brushed wool, and a wonderful lapel roll.  It does feature something like 14 brass buttons, which will send certain forum members into a paroxysm of horror.

As a rule, I don't go abroad to buy clothing I could just as easily find in my home country.

What's so horrifying about 14 brass buttons on a DB blazer? I assume you mean that it has a customary 6-2 pattern with 4 buttons on each sleeve. Sounds perfectly normal to me. I know some people don't like brass blazer buttons, but they do kinda traditionally go with blazers, I think.

I haven't gone blazer shopping (or very little shopping of any kind come to think of it) in London for a while but I was always fond of Austin Reed of Regent St. -- and they were recently brought up on the forum. Whether they are any good or not, I dunno.
