best way to hide shoelaces without hurting the feet?

Hi guys,

I have a perpetual problem with hiding my shoelaces. This includes all sorts of shoes - from Oxfords to sneakers. Below is an example of what I mean:




I always tuck it deep inside the shoe, above my feet. However, after around half an hour of walking, the shoelaces will just come out.

If I tie the shoelaces under the tongue (i.e. right above my feet), it will hurt like crazy. Is there any better way to make sure the shoelaces don't rear their ugly head (other than using lace anchors?

Or just quit buying laced shoes. You could spend your life in monks, chelseas and loafers.

your reply isn't very helpful. There are many people who experienced the same problem and view it as part of poor grooming, simply because it is not neat to have shoelaces hanging out of the shoes.

Shoe laces should not exactly match the colour and/or material of the shoes. The laces on a decent pair of dress shoes shoes should not be long enough to tuck in either...

This makes much sense - the OP's notion that laces need to be hidden is simply barmy.

Shorter laces. If you're worried about it looking messy, this tuck-in method isn't doing you any favors.

Double knot the laces and don't worry about it.

There is no such thing as "hiding laces".

And I thought the briefcase case was ridiculous.

I wonder if it'll come in a gift set, for Fathers Day. It could be packaged with a couple of handkerchiefs designed specifically for lefties, a bottle of pre-pre-shave lotion (to get your face ready for the pre-shave lotion), some ear hair conditioner, and a heated nail clipper.
