Best tie and shirt combo to go with navy pinstripe suit?

Any recommendations for a classic shirt combo and tie combo to go with navy pinstripe suit? What shirt pattern and or tie pattern rules have to be followed when coupling with a pinstripe suit?

In my opinion, spread collar French cuff white shirt with a light blue or gray wool tie.

The tie's pattern should not matter. A narrow-striped might look odd with a pinstripe suit, or it might look fine. A thick-striped shirt likely would be too casual. Solid is always okay.
