Obviously we can't carry around our collection of GATS and common projects in our TOJ helmet bags when nuclear war/zombies/global flooding/virus outbreak/etc occurs.

What would be the best shoes or boots to wear during an apocalypse or disaster scenario? Expect the worst.

For specific scenarios: smelter boots, high-altitude mountaineering boots or waders.
For not so specific scenarios: laced firefighter boots

Merle (The Walking Dead) wore Red Wing Iron Rangers in the show. Rick is wearing cowboy boots.

But at the end Merle was killed... RW IR : Cowboy Boots 0:1.

I'd say look for the tallest waterproof boots you could find as you'd be in seriously deep ****. :)
Aye. And can't believe I am even replying to this thread LOL.

Rubber boots are the best choice for waterproof and exposure to urine and ****. Also work well to provide scent control when you need to get within kissing distance of a big game animal to stick an arrow into it so you can eat. RM Grand Slam Sheep Hunters with HDLP also work well. I have found that when killing things they really don't care so much about your style and what the hell your wearing. Engage the e-locker and put her in 4 low to haul them out. Unless it is another human in self defense of course, then let em lie where they fall.

But having spent a fair number of years doing Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Warfare training for those scenarios it doesn't much matter. Rubber boots again but without a whole lot of other things going in your favor do the same as when you have a faulty gas mask. Remove mask, bend over and put your head between your legs, and kiss your ass good bye.
