Best Shoe Shine in Gramercy/Flat Iron/Greenwich Village/ "Downtown" NYC?

Don't generally wear grown man shoes, and the nice pair of formal black oxfords I have are in bad need of a good shine/all-around polish. I'd ideally love an artisanal shine/polish using Saphir M'dO stuff and really doing a number on it, but time is short and I just want it shined up and buffed out (plus I have no clue where I'd go for this and what I could expect to pay for a really pukka presidential shine). I'd really prefer some place in Gramercy/Flat Iron/Union SQ/Greenwich Village/LES/East Village area and not further uptown. I did a search but all of the relevant threads were over a year or two old and not especially helpful in answering my question. Either that or my search-foo sucks....

Really appreciate the help!

I have edited my recommendation to suggest you go to the following:

B. Nelson Shoes
140 East 55th St
(between Lexington Ave & 3rd Ave)
New York, NY 10022
(212) 750-0818
www.bnelsonshoes.com

I spoke to Nic, and you may wish to ask about the Saphir Products in your shoe shine. The Saphire Shine is $7.00, and their standard shine is about $4.00

Here is their web site:

Are you sitting down?  (grin)

How about one of the Great American all-time shoe shines for $2.50 !

Nordstroms
60 E 14th St  New York, NY 10003

Nordstrom Rack? Really? I've been in there a few times. Never seen a shoe shine stand in there.

According to the store locater there are no regular Nordstroms in NYC. Sad panda is understandably sad.

And what is treasure & bond? Going to assume they don't have the shoe shine stand.

A little out of your way, but some of the midtown hotels have a shoe shine guy on the ground floor. Waldorf Astoria does.

Or Eddie's Shoe Repair at Grand Central Station, if he is still there.

If you rarely wear these shoes, rarely polish them, etc, you're not really accomplishing much by getting "the best" shoe shine. Go to any shoe repair place or shoe shine, and get them shined, and don't sweat it.
