I'll be there next month for Lovebox @Victoria Park and would like to stay in an area that has a decent selection of nightlife/bars/clubs with a younger scene/isn't too touristy. i've always stayed with my aunt out in the suburbs when i've visited there and that was ages ago. Shoreditch? Angel? Sloane Sq? I have no idea what these neighborhoods are like. I'll probably be looking for a B&B or a hostel. anyone have any suggestions?

Shoreditch is hipster and vintage heaven if that´s your scene.

I study near Angel and I find it hard to categorise the crowd there really, but its got a few good bars and pretty decent restaurants in the area and I wouldn´t say its touristy.

Sloane Sq. for B&B or Hostel? i suggest you cross Sloane.Sq out and stick to Shoreditch or Angel.

YHA London Central. Very close to Oxford Circus, not too sure about the nightlife though, but it is relatively new and great value for money.

I just came back from Shoreditch (Crowne Plaza Shoreditch, there's a Holiday Inn not too far away if that is better for your budget). Hoxton Square was nice. Definitely a lot different than the crowds I hung out with south of Liverpool Street station.

Hoxton sq/Shoreditch is my vote. Have a good time getting off your face.
