The re-edited version of a "Touch of Evil," which was done using Orson Wells' detailed notes and not the original studio version. It has this long, swooping single camera shot that captures and sets the entire mood of the film. Great movie with great acting from Wells and Detriech and has the added benefit of Charles Heston playing a Mexican.

Also Yes.

This was tough. I usually drift in and out of attention during the first 5-10 minutes. But after looking through my list of movies, my vote goes to...

D.O.A. "Hello, operator? I'd like to report a murder. My own."

The Third Man

The Road Warrior. Nothing like a sweet car chase to begin a movie.

Say Anything

If we're counting extended opening sequences before the credits... Oldboy

Suspiria. The first death in this movie was the most brutal. Barely worth watching after this.

Indiana Jones-Temple of Doom

"It belongs in a Museum" "So do you ......Jonessssssssssssssssss"

Also +1 to Saving Private Ryan and Full Metal Jacket

R Lee Emery's drill instructor scene was written in full by him because based upon his former experience as a DI.

I think that's actually "Last Crusade". I think Temple of Doom started with Anything Goes.

You're right, I stand corrected.

"X-Men Origins: Wolverine"'s opening sequence involving the American Civil war all the way to Vietnam was engaging. Shame the rest of the film was crap.
