Hi all,

I've been redoing my wardrobe recently but have run into a situation that I need help with.

Basically, I'm very tall and skinny so nothing really fits me, and recently I've been placing orders for MTM dress shirts. However, I work and live where most people dress fairly casual, and have no desire (and wouldn't fit in) if I wore dress shirts buttoned up all the way every day. I also wear jeans, as any type of khaki pants don't look good on me.

My style has always been a neutral-colored t-shirt (grey, black, etc) with a button-up shirt on top, untucked over jeans. However I see that most on this forum consider a button-up shirt over a Tee to be blasphemy. However I live in a chilly climate so I need to layer. My problem is I don't know how to layer AND most all knits besides t-shirts don't fit me.

So a few things I need help with:

- Because I'm wearing my shirts tucked out (I think it looks better on my short torso and long legs), how can I make my MTM shirts look more like "casual dress shirts"? My guess is: shorter length, button-down collars, pockets on the chest, epaulets, and checkered fabric?

- Has anyone gone to a tailor to have a knit made? I guess I need henleys, sweaters, cardigans, etc. What can I wear with a casual button-down shirt?

- Anyone else have ideas for the best casual style for a tall and skinny person?

Thanks!!
