Can someone enlighten me? I prefer my collars on the stiffer side and fused... properly fused...

When it comes to pieces... I don't know.

Thanks for your input!

Back in the good old days (75+ years ago) shirts were separate from collars. If the collar was dirty, you just changed it. Of vice versa if the shirt was dirty. Now, it's difficult to find a laundry that know how to properly wash, starch and iron separate collars.

Two piece collars you mean the side band ( one piece) plus the lapels ( second piece) as any normal shirt is?

I just asked it to my grandmaster ( i do shirts) and he told me fits better around the neck.

a basic shirt has 6 pieces to the collar not including fusing or interlining.
2 for the band and 1 piece of fusing or interlining.
collar 2 + 2 for stay pockets.
+ fusing can be 1, or 2
interning is 1 unless you patch fuse like charvet, that is 2 pieces of fusing.

Great you say it about the hyped Charvet. There is a video were the owner or seller says they do not fuse as fusing is not going to last.

I hate those ignorant fakers. I expossed him years ago and also say Charvet do not deserve more than 120 euros per shirt but ask 600.
