It's time to go eyeglass and sunglass shopping, which I hate because it entails going to an actual store to try on hundreds of frames.
I've been happy with a pair of early 2014 Alain Mikli glasses, which had impressive build quality and took many dings from my young son. But I'm dropping Alain Mikli given their being subsumed under Luxottica a few years back.
So I've been confused about which eyewear brand to try that isn't a Lenscrafter special. I looked at Garrett L and a few others carried by the likes of Mr. Porter and Matchesfashion. But I remembered someone on IG mentioning Barton Perreira.
Accordingly, I'm wondering if you stylish gents can help a 40-something professional like me with the following questions:
Are you happy with your BP eyewear?
How has it compared with other brands you've tried?
Do they make fits that work with Asian nose bridges?
Do you feel like your BP eyewear is worth the premium?
I'm looking for something professional (I'm in private practice in the healthcare world) and slightly fashionable, but not trying too hard a la Yeezy and not ridiculous-sized a la Tom Ford.
So far, my front-runner is the Caine model from BP.
